Ballerina dress

This handmade evening gown in tulle and soie duchesse was created during my haute couture specialization year. My inspiration came from the tutus and costumes worn in ballet performances. I analyzed various types of tulle and skirt constructions and created a characteristic layered skirt, consisting of four layers of tulle per level, to achieve the volume found in classical ballerina tutus. Each layer was hand-pleated and gathered using a specific couture technique. For the color palette, I chose a soft pastel pink, complemented by a blue accent subtly integrated into the layers of the skirt. The dress also features a delicate layer of sequined tulle, adding a subtle shimmer to the overall design. The gown is finished with jewel straps, which support the dress while serving as a refined couture detail. Pictures made by Aliena Photography.
